Another Happily Unread Blog

I had a conversation with a friend the other day about the fact that nobody reads my blog.

She asked “then why do you do it?”

I answered “Because I love to write.”

I hadn’t even realized that’s why I blog. It really is though. So there you go.

The panda suit is almost done and the Christmas hats are picking up speed like a car with no breaks down hill. Aaron has been knitting on the hats as well.

I feel like I need a break. We are moving into a single section of the house. There is still tons to do. Holidays seem to close. I just feel like I’m spinning. I can’t wait till the first of the year when everything is over and I have a whole month till we have another family holiday.

I did, while avoiding knitting because my hands are starting to hurt, find this awesome little blog called Attic24. I just love it. If you want to do some reading you should so do it here.

A Whole New World

Yes it is perfectly okay to brake out in the song from the major motion picture, Aladdin. I did.

Glorious Beautiful has been put on the back seat today as we talk about something that is affecting my life in the now…

I gave up HFCS (High Fructose Corn Sugar) almost two years ago. Since then I have had less issues with my own brain crap. No real need to go into detail there. We were out of anything with gluten in it for about forty-eight hours. Sounds so much more then two days, but that’s what it is. Well my son, in that time, went from slightly behind but doing well massively calm toddler… to… Doing awesome, talking clearly, counting, tornado toddler.

He has energy.

He’s saying hi to other kids and people.

He’s pointing at things and saying what they are without prompt.

He is amazing… So after doing some research I find there is no real reason the body needs gluten I have decided to cut it out of the diet as well. After a long talk with the hubby we also decided that in the long run we want to go all natural,  but we will have to build a little green house and do quite a bit more to get that far.

Till then I have this to share…

http://www.glutenfreely.com/

This place is awesome. More people need to know about this. It needs to come up at the top of search bars instead of the round about crap I was finding. Help me make this more known!

I say this to a blog that I’m sure almost nobody reads. He he he…

Now it’s time for very needed sleep…

Night.

I Missed It

So I completely missed a Sunday. Lost track of time, I did. Well I’m lucky nobody reads my blog. 😛

Other then that we have had a lot going on. My father moved into an apartment. He now lives in the town about an hour away from ours. I miss him but it’s so he can make it to the doctor’s when it starts to snow this year. We have been cleaning up his space. He isn’t very good on basic cleaning in to big of a space. So it’s been a lot of work. Lucky his new space isn’t so big and he is starting new with most things.

We are also starting to plan the REMODEL OF DOOM! Meaning making this house better in little bits.

Winter knitting has started. I have at least a hat a week till Christmas. I am concerned about that a little but I have faith. Just need to remember to work on Logan’s costume.

A Glorious Beautiful

Here is our second episode of “A Glorious Beautiful”. This time around I’m a little more prepared. I’ve been setting down a blog plan and getting things together. I found this image while putting around.

It links to a tattoo page. It wasn’t the page that invoked the post but the twist on the concept of wings. Often I see angel or demon wings. I found these beautiful butterfly/fay wings enjoyable.

If you have anything you would like me to check out. Send me a link, message, picture.

See you on the other side,

A Glorious Beautiful

We’ve been married for a little over a week now and it feels so good. He is a wonderful person and I am so proud that he picked me.

I’ve been doing a lot of knitting, playing with Logan, and getting over a horrible cold I got right after the wedding. I’ve been online and out in the world and I have noticed something scary. We are teaching children opposing ideals. It scares me, and makes me sad.

We tell children to be themselves, that true them is beautiful. Then we tell them through messages of media and social dynamic that they are only beautiful it they fit this social norm. We are so into selling how to get skinny fast we don’t teach our children to be healthy. That a beautiful person both outside and in starts with honesty, humility, empathy, and strength. That being healthy and caring for yourself the way you deserve, and everyone deserves, is beautiful.

So I am going to be starting a repeating blog post…  A Glorious Beautiful… To share the different types of beautiful. Unlike other media I will admit I may be bias. However I will admit full heartily that it is only opinion.

This is one example of what I might be posting. Sad that there was no page to go with this image. It was part of my image search. I personally don’t have the guts to pull this off. That said it is beautiful. This modification takes months if not years. It can be painful. I feel those self inflicted trials it what births the person in the mirror who says, “I’m beautiful” and means it. It’s not just the modification, but what the modification means to the person.

P.S. After I posted this blog I found THIS. It’s just wonderful. An obvious battle we now have with gender roles. Had to add.

Wedding day so close!

Aaron and I have decided to do all the legals this year so we can really plan and focus on our wedding for next year. I’m so flustered, happily so.

But for next years (first anniversary) wedding… There is THIS. My daughter will be coming and she is to be my little princess flower girl.

Can’t even wait to start it.

The first real wedding post…

So you may have noticed… My blog is partly a place for me to post things to keep track of as well as a share what is happening in my life. That said it is time for me to post my very first wedding blog.

Aaron and I have chosen to go with a nontraditional all fun wedding. That said I have tons of things to share.

We have been talking about rings and THIS is the one we are looking at for Aaron. We found it while looking for wooden rings and he just loved it.

The one we are considering for me is THIS. Bit more feminine and it can stack on my existing plain silver band I wear.

It feels nice to find things that really fit our personalities.

There are other things we are having a bit of struggle with. Though we have found a venue, thanks to my beautiful bridesmaid Melissa, we have yet to find dresses for my girls. Seating is a dissolved mess of no idea. I need to start my dress. Plus a hundred other things. Thankfully we have a year to build the best celebration of us we can think of.

Luckily there has been a bit of movement in the creation of the dress. I already have a dress with the perfect crossing V top. So creating a pattern of of something that fits me perfect already should be simple enough. I do have some detail ideas that can’t be worked in till I’ve completed the shell of the dress. I might make most of it out of bleached muslin. I was considering just doing a muslin lining. However I realized that using it for what little ruffle and detail (like sash area) over a simple bridal satin would give a wonderful texture to the dress.

The skirt of the dress is to be modeled after THIS pattern. Primarily the yellow one. Lightly ruffled petticoat underneath to give it body. Light point to the front of the dress. I am really excited to show you the outcome.

That is all for now,

Elyse
